OMEGA: ACROSS THE SKY, THE LAND, AND THE SEA

5 June 2026

Omega is an elite special operations unit of the National Guard of Ukraine. Its servicemembers carry out special missions in the field of national security and defence. Established in 2003 as a separate special-purpose brigade within the Internal Troops of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, the unit was created to counter threats to the state’s internal security and combat terrorism.

Today, it comprises eight detachments united by the motto “Final say is ours.” As part of the Security and Defence Forces of Ukraine, they are repelling the armed aggression of the russian federation. Across the sky, the land, and the sea - the three domains in which Omega operates with equal confidence and professionalism: unseen, yet dangerous to the enemy; steadfast, and faithful to its oath and to the people of Ukraine. This joint exhibition project by the War Museum and the Special Operations Center offers an account of heroism and professionalism told through episodes and artefacts, many of which are being presented to the public for the first time. The exhibition presents the history of Omega’s development, its special operations and participation in the largest battles of the russian-Ukrainian War, as well as unique artefacts and personal stories.
