What is happening to Ukrainians living under russian occupation? How does the russian federation systematically destroy the Ukrainian language, culture, and memory by imposing russian? What challenges will the state and society face after the return of Ukrainian territories and people?
On August 8, 2025, at the War Museum, the Center for Middle Eastern Studies presents the research results of the project «Improving the understanding of the population of the occupied territories and providing them with assistance through transformational research conducted by communities». Based on the study of the experience of people who lived in the occupation for at least six months, two reports were prepared on russification on the occupied territories of Ukraine, as well as the risks and features of deoccupation and reintegration processes.
Researchers will present:
- the method by which the research was carried out;
- analysis of levers and russification methods;
- conclusions regarding the consequences for the population of the long-term russian occupation;
- forecasts for deoccupation and reintegration processes.
