A theatrical performance "Отvетка@ua"

Events / 17 July 2024

A theatrical performance dedicated to the outstanding opera singer and defender of Ukraine, Vasyl Slipak, took place at the War Museum.

The performance "Отvетка@ua, described by its author Neda Nezhdana as a "monobomb", reveals deep personal reflections of the main character on the events happening around her through the prism of pain and loss. The monodrama allows the audience to feel and understand the emotions experienced by thousands of Ukrainians during the war.

The monologues performed by Olha Cherniavska impressed the audience with their emotional intensity. The play of light and shadow enhanced the effect of the actress’s impeccable performance. Through her skill, she conveyed the entire range of emotions – from despair to hope, from pain to love.

Mrs. Olha’s husband, Bohdan Cherniavskyi, a Merited Artist of Ukraine, managed to take a few days off to join the event. He currently serves in the defense forces and performs combat missions in the Kharkiv direction. Bohdan admitted that the last time he saw his wife on stage was more than two years ago, as he has been serving in the military all this time.

After the performance, the audience had the opportunity to talk with the actress and the author of the play, express their impressions, and thank them for creating such a relevant and truly outstanding work.

Incidentally, this very day marked the beginning of filming a documentary about artists who defend their country with weapons in hand. Therefore, everyone present at the performance also participated in the cinema tradition of breaking a plate "for good luck". This gesture was performed in a symbolic place – at the foot of the Motherland Monument.

We are grateful to the entire "Отvетка@ua" team for presenting this impressive performance at the War Museum and look forward to future meetings!
