We invite you to visit interactive tour “Bridges of Memory” dedicated to Day of Remembrance of Ostarbeiters. This is a possibility to learn more about the difficult side of the Second World War based on the Museum’s exhibits.
The first echelon with Ukrainian Ostarbeiters left from Kharkiv to Cologne, 19, January 1942. Nazi occupation regime broke millions of destinies.
Together with curator Tetiana Romanenko, you will be able to get acquainted with the Museum’s exhibits, which tell about life and trials of Ostarbeiters. You will see objects, photographs, letters and documents revealing the story of those who survived force eviction to Germany. These testimonies remind us of human dignity and encourage us to think about events of the past on our present.
