On July 19, 2025, a joint event of the War Museum and «1st Separate Assault Regiment HUB» «Drones: weapons of the 21st century» took place.
The event combined a lecture and a demonstration of modern unmanned technologies, which already today determine the course of hostilities at the front. Museum tour guide Ruslan Bolobon talked about the history of the use of drones in the Ukrainian Defense Forces – from the first civilian DJI Mavic quadcopters, which appeared on the contact line back in 2014, to combat FPV drones, which became a real breakthrough during the confrontation with the russian large-scale invasion.
The participants of the event had the opportunity to see with their own eyes the drones of various models that are participating in hostilities and are now kept in the museum stock collection: DJI Mavic 3, FPV drone and anti-aircraft UAV «General Cherry AIR». Separately, modern means of anti-drone warfare were considered, in particular, the Ukrainian development for detecting enemy drones «Tsukorok». In the hands of our soldiers, they have become an integral part of the battle against the russian occupiers.
The second part of the event was practical: servicemen of the 1st separate assault regiment presented the ground robotic complex «Targan 1K». Visitors learned how this technique works, what are its advantages and what are the tasks on the battlefield. The culmination was an exciting interactive: everyone had the opportunity to try themselves as the operator «Targan».
The War Museum thanks everyone who participated in the interactive class. Follow our announcements!
