The Book Club of the War Museum invites you to a series of meetings dedicated to the International Holocaust Remembrance Day.

Meeting a friend: "The Happiest Man on Earth. Memoirs of a Holocaust Survivor"

Abraham Jakubowicz was born in Germany in 1920. On November 10, 1938, the morning after the Jewish pogroms, the young man was beaten and taken to the Buchenwald concentration camp. At that time, he had no idea about the existence of Auschwitz-Birkenau. A "death march" awaited ahead. 15,000 prisoners died. Eddie was lucky to run away.

This book is about self-identity, injustice and finding light even in the dark.

Artifacts of that time, which are kept in the fund collection of the War Museum, will complement the memoirs of a person who survived the Holocaust and dared to tell his story.

Curator: tour guide Ksenia Savelieva
