Representatives of the Defense Intelligence of Ukraine (DIU), Andriy Yusov and Yevhenii Yerin, handed over artifacts to the Museum that reflect the activities of military intelligence during the war and the work of the Coordination Headquarters for the Treatment of Prisoners of War.
Among them are eight awards, blank certificates and letters of appreciation from the Coordination Headquarters, and copies of founding documents with descriptions of the materials provided. However, the true gems of the transferred collection are two flags that witnessed pivotal, fateful events for the country.
One flag, dated November 3, 2023, was installed in the briefing room of the Head of the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine, Lieutenant General Kyrylo Budanov, where work meetings, important discussions, and significant decisions were made, until it was transferred to the Museum.
The other flag was raised on the flagpole near the main building on the territory of the DIU on February 24, 2024, next to the memorial complex dedicated to fallen military intelligence officers, where all solemn events were held and heroes were honored. This flag was signed by Lieutenant General Budanov specifically for the Museum.
The Museum team sincerely thanks the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine for the continuous replenishment of the museum’s collection with valuable artifacts, and for their long-standing cooperation and support of the Museum.
