Join us for a discussion of a historical and philosophical work that holds a pivotal place in capturing the Ukrainian experience of World War II. During this time, our people found themselves under the pressure of two occupying forces — the Nazi and Soviet regimes. Ivan Bahrianyi’s novel centers on the dramatic journey of a Ukrainian man who, despite the horrors of the era, refuses to live under any occupier’s rule and remains true to his principles.
Our compatriots made great sacrifices on the altar of war and faced immense challenges — themes we will explore during this museum book club meeting. Together, we will reflect on the wartime events of WWII through Bahrianyi’s literary lens and museum artifacts.
