Our employees, Olha Korziukova and Dmytro Shyshatskyi, conducted a thematic lesson that combined history, modernity, and vital skills.
During the meeting, they talked about how wars, despite their cruelty, became the impetus for a breakthrough in medicine: the First World War—the development of prosthetics, the Second—new methods of treating fractures and evacuating the wounded.
In everyday life, during a critical moment, it is often an ordinary person—rather than a professional doctor—who is at the victim’s side. Their actions can potentially save lives. This highlights the importance of having basic knowledge of first aid, especially in times of war when the threat is a constant presence.
The young participants of the event not only learned about the origins of tactical medicine in Ukraine and heard stories about renowned Ukrainian doctors and inventors who have saved lives at the front lines, from World War I to the present day, but they also gained practical skills. They learned how to stop bleeding, check for breathing, and stabilize the wounded.
We believe the knowledge gained will stay in our guests’ memories and serve as a strong foundation for the future.
