We invite you to celebrate Shevchenko Days at the War Museum! Together we will look at the figure of the Kobzar without censorship or ideological layers.
During the session, we will examine how and why Soviet authorities constructed the myth of the “revolutionary-Bolshevik,” why Shevchenko’s poetry became a key element of wartime agitation in the 1940s, and what methods modern Russian propaganda uses to once again appropriate the name of the Ukrainian genius.
