On the occasion of International Museum Day, the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Ukraine, on behalf of the Polish people, presented the War Museum with an IVECO EUROCARGO truck.

Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Poland to Ukraine Jarosław Guzy and Acting Minister of Culture and Information Policy of Ukraine Rostyslav Karandieiev attended the event.

Jarosław Guzy emphasized the need for museums to receive support to raise awareness about russian aggression. This humanitarian aid will help strengthen the War Museum, which serves as a guardian of culture. He also highlighted that the Polish people, at all levels, are offering their support to Ukrainians during this terrible war.

Rostyslav Karandieiev emphasized that Poland and Ukraine have stood together since the beginning of russia’s full-scale invasion. He stated they feel like a single European family, and today’s truck transfer demonstrates this unity. The truck will serve a vital mission—collecting artifacts and using them to highlight the realities of the russian-Ukrainian war.

The Director General of the War Museum, Yurii Savchuk, congratulated everyone on International Museum Day and expressed deep gratitude to the Polish people and Jarosław Guzy for the valuable gift. The Museum’s head also thanked Robert Czyżewski, the former Director of the Polish Institute in Kyiv, and Michał Dworczyk, Minister-Member of the Council of Ministers of Poland, for initiating the truck transfer and facilitating the process.

The War Museum will use the truck for expeditions, transporting artifacts during international exhibitions, and institution maintenance.

This gift acknowledges the Museum’s efforts to document and showcase the realities of the russian-Ukrainian war. It demonstrates the strong support of the Republic of Poland for Ukrainian culture and the Museum team.

The War Museum is very grateful to the Polish government, the Embassy of the Republic of Poland, and the Ministry of Culture and Information Policy of Ukraine.
