German Federal Minister for Foreign Affairs Annalena Baerbock visited the Museum Multimedia Project “Children…”, a martyrology of the youngest Ukrainians killed in the full-scale war with russia.
On May 21, Annalena Baerbock made an unscheduled visit to Ukraine. It was a busy day for her. She visited a thermal power station in Kyiv that was destroyed by russian missiles, met with a mobile air defense fire team, and paid tribute to the boys and girls who lost their lives during the full-scale invasion.
Annalena Baerbock’s arrival at the War Museum coincided with another power outage. This posed a risk that the multimedia project would not be shown at the Lower Gate. However, the museum staff found a solution—they powered the necessary equipment with generator, at least for a while.
Annalena Baerbock entered the exhibition hall alone and was completely immersed in the exhibition’s atmosphere. The Museum’s Director General, Yurii Savchuk, and curator, Iryna Kotsabiuk, introduced her to the project’s idea, concept, and elements.
Annalena Baerbock was moved by what she saw and heard at the Museum. She expressed gratitude to the team for their impactful projects, which vividly and empathetically portray the realities of war.
