On 21 July 2026 at 16:30, the War Museum will host the lecture and discussion “Woman. War. Art. Olexandra Ekster and the First World War”, delivered by Anna Lodyhina, author of an innovative study of the renowned Futurist artist and creator of an original guided tour of Kyiv locations associated with Ekster.
The lecture will offer a glimpse into the mysteries of artistic creation in a time of radical change, viewed through the lens of women’s resilience and sensitivity.
Contemporary Ukrainian artist Polina Kuznietsova will also join the discussion. She will speak about how the war has influenced her art and creative process and will share the experiences of other women artists.
The event will be moderated by Roman Kabachii, Head of the First World War Research Sector at the War Museum.
