The exhibition recreates 10-year history of the battalion, which turned from the voluntary formation in the beginning of the russian aggression (2014) into the regular unit of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
During this time, many its fighters received state awards: six persons were awarded the title of the Hero of Ukraine (four of them posthumously). Despite changes in its subordination and deployment in the different directions, the traditions and values of “Aidar” make it one of the best units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The exhibition presents many heroic episodes and traces the combat path of the battalion. Its artifacts convey feelings and emotions, serving as testimonies to reliability, courage, and heroism. All the collected items, before becoming part of the exhibit, journeyed through the challenging paths of war alongside the soldiers. Each item has its own story.
The history of the 24th Separate Assault Battalion is an example of how volunteers with different life paths and dissimilar pre-war biographies defeat an enemy that is significantly larger and extremely dangerous.
