Steel Valor

4 March 2025

The photographs presented depict war from the perspective of those fighting on the front lines. These are not mere snapshots; they capture moments of courage, pain, strength, and brotherhood engraved in history.

Visitors will see photos of legendary equipment that helps the brigade’s fighters fight the enemy: the formidable Leopard 1A5, the powerful Rosomak, the reliable M113, the maneuverable Valuk, and the Roshel Senator armored vehicles. But the most important aspect is the people: the eyes of those who fight, the smiles shared between battles. Each photo captures life in war—without embellishment, without staging, and with stark honesty.

About the brigade: The 44th Separate Mechanized Brigade was created on March 1, 2023. In June-July 2023, the unit repelled the enemy’s offensive in the Kreminna and Lyman regions, and from July of the same year, it performed tasks in the Kupiansk-Svatove direction. Since January 2025, part of the brigade’s forces have defended the Pokrovsk region, giving a worthy rebuff to the enemy.

For the past two years, they have been systematically destroying enemy equipment and targeting the positions of the occupiers, with their drones constantly harassing the russians. The Ukrainian military continues its courageous struggle, refusing to surrender any land without a fierce fight.

With support from international partners, the brigade is equipped with modern armored vehicles and weapons, enabling it to effectively carry out combat missions.
