The War Museum, in collaboration with the National Olympic Committee of Ukraine, is hosting an exhibition to boost the patriotic spirit of our athletes representing Ukraine at the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris.
Ukraine’s participation in this year’s Games is a powerful message to the world community that our people are here, fighting, and capable of winning. This story is about the Will to Win, an inherent feature of Ukrainians.
The exhibition provides compelling evidence of the russian aggressor’s violation of the rules of war by destroying sports infrastructure, including Olympic training and sports centers, specialized children’s and youth sports schools, and stadiums where future champions have trained. 518 sports facilities, including 15 Olympic training bases, have been destroyed.
A section of the exhibition features photographs by Mykola Synelnykov, showcasing the indomitable spirit of Ukrainian athletes training on grounds destroyed by russian strikes.
The creation of this exhibition is a tribute to the memory of the fallen athletes, and a thank you to those who have joined the ranks of the Armed Forces. In the 2024 Olympics, Ukraine will be represented by 140 athletes competing in 23 events. We wish them success and victory and hope to see the blue and yellow flag and hear the Ukrainian anthem worldwide!
