Kherson. "Russian World". 9 days. The Last Rites

20 November 2022

The large street banners from the recently liberated regional center were gathered during an expedition and have just been brought to the capital by the Museum’s Director General and project curator, Yurii Savchuk.

These are the latest artifacts from the russian-Ukrainian war, which are powerful evidence of the occupation and have now become museum exhibits.

The exhibition was presented near the pedestal of the Motherland Monument, under the largest National Flag of Ukraine on the hills of the Memorial. The symbolic number of objects is 11. It was on 11.11.22 that the city of Kherson was liberated. Symbolically, the project’s opening occurred on the ninth day of the collapse of the russian rule in seized Kherson. The red Soviet stars are the final symbols of the enemy’s occupation and the markers of de-Russification and deactivation of the "russian world."

This is a story about russian propaganda and its unique characteristics in the city of Kherson, the values of the russian world, its concepts, and its ideological orientations. It is a testament to the struggle of Ukrainians against Kremlin agitation.

The project partner is the Kherson City Utility Company "Harantiya." Director Ihor Sorkin, chief engineer Yehor Holz, and employees Anatolii, Denys, and Ivan made every effort to make this possible.

The first visitors to the exhibition were Pavlo Bilash, General Director of the Directorate for the Internal and Humanitarian Policy of the Office of the President of Ukraine; Robert Chyzhevsky, Head of the Polish Institute in Kyiv; Ihor Poshyvaylo, Director General of the National Memorial to the Heavenly Hundred Heroes and Revolution of Dignity Museum; military personnel; museum employees; media representatives.

Liberated from the deception of the "russian world" and the temporary "curtain," our true slogans, "Kherson is Ukraine!" and "Ukraine is Europe!" were once again on the streets of Kherson.

Kherson is cold, waterless, drained, and mined, but FREE!
