The museum collection of artifacts from the Russian-Ukrainian war continues to grow with items from international volunteers who joined the defense of Ukraine.
American soldier Dustin Wiley (call sign “Goon”) visited the Museum – a U.S. Army veteran and participant in missions in Iraq as part of the legendary 82nd Airborne Division, who in 2022 joined the Ukrainian resistance against russian aggression. His combat path includes operations in the Kharkiv region, near the city of Avdiivka, and other front-line areas, as well as work as an instructor.
Dustin donated to the museum collection artifacts of special personal significance – a combat shirt and a backpack pierced by shrapnel, which accompanied him through two wars – in Iraq and in Ukraine. In the space of the exhibition “FOR FREEDOM”, dedicated to foreign volunteers in Ukraine’s Defense Forces, he honored the memory of the warriors who gave their lives for the freedom of our country and a better future for the free world.
The Museum is grateful to Dustin for his invaluable contribution to the Ukrainian people’s fight for freedom and for his trust in our institution.
