FOR FREEDOM

Exhibitions and presentations / Our partners / 28 February 2025

On February 27, 2022, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy addressed foreign citizens with a call to join the International Legion and fight side by side with Ukrainians. For the past three years, foreigners have been coming to Ukraine to answer that call and fight FOR FREEDOM.

The FOR FREEDOM project is dedicated to foreign volunteers who have joined Ukraine’s Defense Forces to protect freedom and the values of the democratic world. It systematically explores the phenomenon of international support for Ukraine—from military and humanitarian aid provided by various countries to the deeply personal decision of a foreign volunteer to become a soldier in the Ukrainian army.

This is an exhibition about freedom—about what drives and inspires people to leave their families and homes, travel thousands of kilometers from the front lines, and defend the fundamental value of the free world. Through personal stories, the exhibition takes visitors on a journey from the pre-war lives of these warriors to their acts of heroism on the battlefield, introducing them to those who stand alongside Ukrainians in the fight to preserve Ukraine’s identity.

Entry from February 28 – with museum admission tickets.
