Legendary “Furia” Joins the War Museum Collection

Our partners / Museum Life / 30 April 2026

On 29 April, the official ceremony for the transfer of the “Furia” to the War Museum took place. During the event, the Museum’s Director General, Yurii Savchuk, and the co-founder of Athlon Avia, Artem Viunnyk, signed a Memorandum of Long-term Cooperation.

This partnership lays the foundation for a new project – the “Museum of Modern Military Technologies”. A location that has never before been used for exhibitions will be dedicated to this purpose.

“We have begun the implementation of a project that will allow us to tell a broader and deeper story of the latest Ukrainian weaponry, the defenders who use it, and the manufacturers who have achieved an incredible level in extremely difficult conditions. This supports a new stage in our Museum’s development”, noted Yurii Savchuk.

The A1-SM “Furia” UAV is one of the first domestic systems that fundamentally changed the principles of artillery reconnaissance. In 2014, it effectively taught Ukrainian artillery to see the enemy from the sky. It was thanks to this aircraft that new sections appeared in the artillery regulations, and aerial reconnaissance transformed from an amateur pursuit into a professional system.

Valentyn “Balu”, a UAV squad commander, called the “Furia” a true “workhorse” of the war and the eyes of the artillery that saved hundreds of infantry lives, while Yurii “Ispanets”, a UAV crew commander, recalled that “it provided us with a foundation and knowledge. It is a legendary aircraft that rightfully deserves its place in the Museum”.

For the War Museum, accepting the “Furia is both an honour and a responsibility. We continue to document the valour of the Ukrainian people and record the development of modern military technologies.
