On December 8, 2025, at 2:00 PM, the War Museum invites you to an event in memory of the Hero of Ukraine Vadym Lysenkov (“Bald”) – an “Azov” warrior whose motto “Life free of fear” became the meaning of his life and struggle.
Vadym Lysenkov was a junior sergeant and a warrior of extraordinary spiritual strength. He was born on December 8, 1996, in Kyiv. He graduated from the Anton Makarenko Kyiv Professional and Pedagogical College. He was involved in folk dancing. He was an athlete, participating in marathons and competitions. From 2017 to 2020, he served in the Special Operations Detachment “Azov” of the National Guard of Ukraine.
Since April 2022, Vadym participated in battles in the Zaporizhzhia direction and in the Kherson counteroffensive. He distinguished himself as a squad leader, and subsequently as a platoon commander of an assault company during the battles for Bakhmut, Donetsk region. He died on November 24, 2022, during the assault on enemy positions.
On July 8, 2023, by Decree of the President of Ukraine No. 406/2023, he was posthumously awarded the title of Hero of Ukraine.
The defender’s mother, Oksana Lysenkova, and sister, Yana Lysenkova-Reva, will join the meeting, as well as representatives of Lyceum No. 261 of the Darnytskyi district of Kyiv and the “Happy Childhood” Children and Youth Choreographic Studio, where Vadym Lysenkov studied. His brother-in-arms will also attend: Ruslan Serbov (“Davyd”) – an “Azov” fighter, defender of the Kyiv region, and participant in the GUR special operation in Mariupol, author of the book “Mariupol. The Book of the Brave;” Yevhen Chudnetsov (“Chudik”) – an officer of the 12th Special Forces Brigade “Azov” of the NGU, Head of the Medical Service, and defender of “Azovstal.”
