The Museum hosted a meeting with Mykhailo Mudryk, a soldier of the 101st Brigade for the Protection of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
In his opening remarks, the Museum’s Director General, Yurii Savchuk, expressed gratitude to the Security and Defense Forces. Speaking about the russian-Ukrainian war, he emphasized: “It is our institution’s duty to document this war, to preserve, disseminate, and perpetuate the memory of our people’s heroic resistance.”
What made this day truly special was a unique moment — for the first time in the Museum’s history, a hero was honored right during a public event: Mykhailo Mudryk was awarded the Order “For Courage,” 3rd Class.
The defender shared his service experience. He was mobilized in 2024 and, from December of that year until March 2025, carried out combat missions near the village of Klishchiivka in the Donetsk region, bravely holding his assigned position and repelling constant assaults by russian forces.
The soldier also donated artifacts to the Museum’s collection. Among the exhibits are an embroidered vyshyvanka-amulet, a captured russian bayonet, shell casings and bullets from battle sites, and shoulder patches.
We sincerely thank Mykhailo for his trust. From now on, his story will be preserved in the Museum for future generations as testimony to the ongoing war.
