Meeting with Adelina Tralman (Emisveppy)

Events / 30 December 2025

A public meeting with poet, veteran of the Russian-Ukrainian war, and servicewoman of the Unmanned Systems Battalion of the 57th Separate Motorized Infantry Brigade named after Otaman Kost Hordiienko, Adelina Tralman, took place at the War Museum. The event launched a new Museum initiative – the “CultResist” project, aimed at preserving and promoting the creative legacy of poets-servicemembers who are defending Ukraine. The meeting was moderated by Olha Vorobiei, Senior Research Fellow of the Museum. Guests of the event included cadets of the Ivan Bohun Kyiv Military Lyceum.

Adelina Tralman is an artist, poet, and composer. She studied at the Faculty of Music Theory of the R. M. Glier Kyiv Municipal Academy of Music. She worked as a music teacher at a school for children with special needs. She experienced the full-scale invasion in Kyiv and later evacuated to Germany, where she enrolled in a higher music institution in Rostock (Germany). There, she simultaneously participated in a student orchestra, played the organ at a local church, and performed on various musical instruments during creative events at a theatre.

In 2023, Adelina returned to Ukraine, and in the summer of 2024 she joined the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, becoming a reconnaissance servicewoman in the Unmanned Systems Battalion of the 57th Separate Motorized Infantry Brigade. She carried out combat missions in the city of Vovchansk and the surrounding areas.

During the event, in addition to sharing her life and combat experience, Adelina Tralman recited her original poems written in one of the hottest combat zones in Ukraine. Tralman dedicated the poem “The Flag” to her fallen brothers-in-arms. The poet also addressed the theme of love on the frontline.

During the meeting, the veteran presented her poetry collection “Songs of a New Era. A Soldier’s Confession”, which includes 83 poems and several short prose pieces. Most of the poetic works were written in Vovchansk during her military service.

At the conclusion of the meeting, Adelina Tralman donated to the Museum a copy of the collection “Songs of a New Era. A Soldier’s Confession”, her original drawings – “Destroyed Vovchansk,” “Initiation into the Mavic Operators,” “A Brother-in-Arms Wounded” – as well as frontline everyday items and combat trophies.

The Museum sincerely thanks the poet for the warm conversation and the donated artifacts. We thank warrior-artists for their defense of Ukraine and admire their creativity!
