Recently, a good friend of the War Museum, Major Ivan Tataurov, Head of the Communications Department of the 24th Separate Mechanized Brigade named after King Danylo, visited us and donated samples of the symbols of the seven combat brigades and the patronage service of the 24th Separate Mechanized Brigade named after King Danylo "Brave Hearts" to the Museum’s collection. Patches, flags, plaquettes, coins, brigade commanders’ insignia, and much more will now form the basis for future exhibition projects of the Museum.
The symbols of combat brigades are more than mere signs or emblems; each element on the coat of arms or flag carries its meaning. These elements reflect the brigades’ uniqueness, combat history, and the historical connection of those who have defended the Ukrainian people over the centuries.
The Museum is sincerely grateful to the commanders of the 24th Separate Mechanized Brigade named after King Danylo, the Separate Presidential Brigade named after Hetman Bohdan Khmelnytsky, the 40th Separate Coastal Defense Brigade, the 5th Heavy Mechanized Brigade, the 28th Separate Mechanized Brigade named after the Knights of the Winter Campaign, the 92nd Separate Assault Brigade named after Kosh Otaman Ivan Sirko, and the 128th Mountain Assault Brigade "Zakarpattia."
We would also like to thank Major Tataurov for his tireless work in preserving the history of the Ukrainian army and periodically replenishing the Museum’s collection with unique artifacts.
