Have you ever wondered how people 80 years ago received the news – without Telegram channels, social media, or even television?

At that time, the main source of information and comfort was the radio.

During the Second World War, it was heard everywhere. State leaders addressed their nations, announcing decisions that shaped the course of world history. Civilians gathered around radio receivers to hear the latest news from the frontlines or at least a familiar melody. Radio announcers became superstars, as their voices were recognized after just a few words.

To mark the Day of Workers of Ukrainian Radio, Television, and Communications, the War Museum brings together history, sound, and memory. Archival audio recordings and documents will transport visitors into the wartime airwaves of 1939–1945 – a time when every word could become a weapon, and every broadcast could be the only source of information.
