the Khortytsia National Reserve transferred new artifacts of the russian-Ukrainian war to our Museum.
Our colleagues from Zaporizhzhia, despite the shelling, have not interrupted their work — they continue to welcome visitors, expand the collection, and honor the defenders who have stood in Ukraine’s defense since 2014. Thanks to their efforts, the Museum’s collections have been enriched with items of russian military uniform as well as fragments of aerial bombs (KAB) and drones.
This marks the third instance of inter-museum artifact exchange involving the War Museum.
In November 2022, our institution transferred 33 items of russian uniforms, equipment, and propaganda materials to the Lviv Historical Museum, where they became part of an exhibition called “Museum Front”.
In September 2024, the Director of the National Museum-Reserve of Ukrainian Military Achievements, Vladyslav Alokhin, presented us with 18 full-scale mockups of munitions once used for training purposes.
We thank our colleagues from the Khortytsia National Reserve for joining the solidarity circle and sharing the materials they have collected.
These examples convincingly demonstrate that Ukrainian museums share common values. We support one another and jointly shape collections and exhibitions that preserve the truth about the war.
Together, we are documenting the present for future generations.
