A constant friend and partner of the Museum – the “Come Back Alive” Charitable Foundation – has transferred to our collection a set of artifacts reflecting Ukraine’s contemporary struggle and the role of volunteer organizations in bringing victory closer.
In total, 21 items have been added to the museum collection. A significant portion consists of engraved and milled shell casings from artillery guns of 105 mm, 122 mm, and 152 mm calibers, decorated with symbolic inscriptions in honor of the volunteer organization. A separate large group of artifacts is formed by transport tubes for artillery charges, as well as one for a mortar round. Among the distinctive items are a remote mining container and a tank infrared searchlight “Luna.”
Particular attention is drawn to several unique objects. In particular, a tube bearing the motto of the Defence Intelligence of the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine, Sapiens dominabitur astris (“The wise shall rule the stars”), with words of gratitude and the call signs of the fighters who received assistance from the volunteers: “Spekt”, “Phantom”, “Korshun”, “Medoid”, “Rex”, and “Chaika”. No less expressive are a tube from the 40th Separate Artillery Brigade featuring an artistic painting of a warrior with the Ukrainian flag, as well as a tube from the 148th Separate Artillery Brigade decorated with images of a soldier with a Javelin ATGM and the 2S22 Bohdana self-propelled howitzer.
Of particular value are the items that possess their own unique history. The first is a fragment of a Russian Kh-101 missile shot down by a unit of the 1020th Anti-Aircraft Missile and Artillery Regiment in March 2024.
The second is a tube from an RBS-70 MANPADS, from which a Russian Ka-52 attack helicopter was shot down on 31 August 2023 near the settlement of Klishchiivka by servicemen with the call signs “Kolobok” and “Makar” of the anti-aircraft missile and artillery division of the 101st Separate Brigade for the Protection of the General Staff.
The museum team sincerely thanks the “Come Back Alive” Charitable Foundation for enriching the museum collection with unique artifacts, preserving the living history of the modern war, and supporting museum work.
