On August 25, the second National Prayer Breakfast was held under the patronage of the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy. This year, for the first time, the event took place the day after Ukraine’s Independence Day and concluded the global 24-hour prayer initiative for peace in Ukraine. The event brought together over a thousand participants from more than 50 countries.
The War Museum joined the National Prayer Breakfast for the second time. For this occasion, the photo exhibition “Indestructible Faith” was prepared, and items from the Museum’s collection were provided for the symbolic memorial table. These artifacts tell nine unique stories of servicemen, law enforcement officers, medics, adult civilians, and children during the full-scale Russian-Ukrainian war. All of them were killed at the hands of Russian occupiers – in battle, in captivity, or in their own homes… They were people of different nationalities, faiths, ages, genders, and professions, yet their lives were cut short by the crimes of the Russian aggressor.
For the Museum, it is a great honor to take part in the National Prayer Breakfast. We pray for Ukraine and for the coming of a just peace for our people and for people of goodwill all around the world!
