The War Museum and the 3rd Army Corps Exchange Books and Artefacts

Our partners / 10 July 2026

The great power of printed literature has been recognised since ancient times. That is why military commanders, from antiquity through the Middle Ages, took mobile libraries with them on campaigns. The 3rd Army Corps, built on the foundation of the already legendary 3rd Separate Assault Brigade, has always placed special emphasis on the ideological education of its personnel. Therefore, following its expansion, work began on establishing its own central library. Today, its collection already includes more than 2,000 rare and contemporary publications.

The War Museum understands, like no other, that books are weapons in the war of ideas and values. That is why it gladly joined the effort to collect publications for the 3rd Army Corps. The donated literature on the theory of war, philosophy and political science, along with the Museum’s own publications, will contribute to the development and strengthening of the worldview of our defenders.

In turn, the Museum’s collection has also been enriched with valuable artefacts: the very books read by defenders on the front line. The most symbolic item is one damaged in the war, bearing a handwritten inscription by its previous owner: “Donbas met this book with fire and bullets, just as it met our Hope. But, like our hope, this book proves that we can be scorched, but not destroyed.”
