Genocide by Famine

Events / 23 November 2024

On November 23, Ukraine and the world commemorate the victims of the Holodomor on Holodomor Remembrance Day. On this day, War Museum invites you to attend a museum lecture on one of the greatest tragedies of Ukrainian history - the Holodomor of 1932-1933. Museum tour guide Alla Hrushetska will introduce the participants to artifacts and documents from the stock collection, which shed light on the course of the artificial famine in Ukraine, and will also tell about the survival of Ukrainians during that terrible time. You will learn about the international recognition of the Holodomor as a genocide of Ukrainian people carried out by the Stalinist regime. We will also talk about the coverage of the Holodomor in works of literature and cinematography. At the end of the meeting, we will light a symbolic candle of remembrance to honor the victims of the Holodomor. Be sure to book a place by phone (+38044) 285-94-52.
