8th Congress of the Ukrainian Student League

Our partners / 26 July 2025

On July 26, the War Museum hosted the second day of the 8th Congress of the Ukrainian Student League, which brought together active students from all over the country. The event became a platform for dialogue on current issues that concern proactive youth.

With opening remarks to the student community, Yurii Savchuk, Director General of the War Museum, emphasized the importance of active youth in decisive moments of the country’s history and the relevance of the League’s motto – “Creating a Better Time”.

During the Congress, a panel discussion took place under the title “Who Chooses Whom: Business Students or Student Business?” which united representatives of Ukrainian Student League’s business partners.

Among the speakers were Vitalii Kovalchuk, Manager for Key Partners at Lenovo, Oleksandr Tyrkalov, Head of External Education at Genesis, and Yaroslava Tereshchenko, HR Manager in the Personnel Department at KPMG. The speakers stressed that today’s student is not only a potential employee but also a driver of change within the company.

As part of the session “Ukraine at War: Volunteering that Builds the State,” Serhii Prytula, founder of a charitable foundation, shared his vision of the role of youth in supporting the frontline and civilian infrastructure. He noted that today’s students are already filling a niche in the nationwide volunteer movement, and thus one can already observe a trend toward expanding support for the front.

In the course of the panel discussion “Higher Education for All? How to Build Accessibility in the Educational Space”, dedicated to the implementation of inclusivity, an exchange of views took place between Tetiana Lomakina, Advisor and Authorized Representative of the President of Ukraine on Accessibility, Larysa Stulnikova, PhD in Psychology and Associate Professor at the Department of Social Work of Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv, and Mariia Pushkarova, Bachelor of Social Work and certified sign language interpreter. The participants raised important issues concerning the physical, informational, and mental accessibility of higher education for various groups of students.

We are proud that the Museum once again became a space for dialogue, initiatives, and inspiration. We thank the Ukrainian Student League, for their trust and partnership. Together we are building a strong Ukraine!
