In the "Sign on the Shield" exhibition space, a thematic lesson and workshop were held for students of the Kyiv Children’s Academy of Arts, named after M.I. Chemberzhi, and the National Academy of Fine Arts and Architecture. The event was organized to mark the Day of the State Coat of Arms of Ukraine, primarily introducing talented youth to the unique exhibits of the "Sign on the Shield" exhibition.
"Among the 200 authentic artifacts covering more than a thousand years of Ukrainian history," said museum researcher and event organizer Inna Yermakova, "we focused young artists’ attention on exhibits of artistic value that highlight the fascinating facts about the history of the Trident. We explored key stages of its development as the state emblem. We discussed the role of artists Vasyl Krychevsky, Heorhii Narbut, Robert Lisovsky, and Mykola Bytynsky in state formation and their artistic legacy."
Following the tour of the museum halls, a workshop took place in the same exhibition space, where young artists created their interpretations of the national symbol.
According to the feedback from Academy professors, the sense of living continuity and national identity awakened a direct interest and creative imagination among students of the fine arts department. They quickly expressed their vibrant thoughts and personal perceptions of the emblem in their works. This emblem has permanently linked centuries of Ukrainian history with the nation’s aspirations for freedom and independence.
"We express our sincere interest in conducting such educational activities and continuing our collaboration and creative interaction in fostering the spiritual elite of the nation," said Olena Bondarenko, Deputy Director for Artistic Work at the Lyceum.
We are delighted that the Museum is becoming a space for young people to bring their creative ideas to life, drawing inspiration from the exhibition, reinterpreting historical events, and reflecting their thoughts through art.
